Partner Partners

The Madhubani Cultural Foundation is the Foundation’s primary cross-border partner, working in the Indian districts of the historical Mithila region — Bihar and surrounding areas. The partnership creates a unified, transnational approach to Mithila art promotion that reflects the culture’s inherently borderless nature.

Joint initiatives include the biennial Mithila Cultural Corridor Festival, an artist exchange programme that has facilitated over 200 cross-border artist residencies, and a joint advocacy effort to secure UNESCO Geographical Indication status for Madhubani art.

The relationship between the two foundations demonstrates that cultural heritage can serve as a powerful vehicle for regional peace, cooperation, and mutual understanding, even across politically sensitive borders.
