Janakpur Art Institute is the leading fine arts institution in the Mithila heartland and a vital academic partner for the Foundation. The institute provides rigorous academic grounding for the Foundation’s educational programmes and contributes expertise in curriculum design and art history research.
The partnership has produced a joint certificate course in Madhubani Art that has enrolled over 500 students, a mentorship programme that pairs senior institute faculty with emerging community artists, and an ongoing research project documenting the evolution of Mithila art styles over the past century.
The Institute also serves as the primary venue for the Foundation’s annual international art residency, hosting visiting artists from over 20 countries for month-long immersive Mithila art experiences.
