Dr. Sunita Devi Jha brings together her identity as a practicing Madhubani artist and a trained cultural educator to lead the Foundation’s entire portfolio of programs. She holds a PhD in Fine Arts with a specialisation in traditional Indian folk art from Banaras Hindu University.

Under her stewardship, the Foundation’s programs have reached over 50,000 participants across Nepal, India, and 12 other countries. She pioneered the Foundation’s school-integration curriculum, which has introduced Mithila art to more than 200 schools and colleges across the Mithila region.

Dr. Sunita is also the lead author of Living Lines: A Curriculum for Mithila Art, a widely used teaching resource translated into six languages. She frequently speaks at international arts education conferences and has been featured in the BBC, Al Jazeera, and numerous South Asian cultural publications.
