Description

This painting is loosely inspired from the Narsingh incarnation of Hindu God Vishnu, where he adopted the head of a lion and body of a human to overcome the demon and establish dharma. Symbolic depiction of human eyes have been used to depict the human body. The painting is in motifs of Mithila / Madhubani painting, folk art from India and Nepal. It was showcased at Nassau County Museum of Art, NY. This project is a collaborative venture with Barat Foundation, NJ, USA who provided the Lion shaped 3D aluminum structure, Animodule.
